INSTRUCTOR'S
PROFILE
| Deservedly,
Sambar Deer (Cervus unicolor) have a reputation for being
both mysterious and elusive. This is true whether they are
hunted in India or here in eastern Victoria.
Seventeen years ago I accepted the challenge
of trying to remove the cloak of mystery which surrounds
this species, and to this end I have spent much of the
past 17 years studying sambar deer behaviour.
Consequently, I am now able to paint
you a clear picture as to what sambar do, when they
do it and why they do it. |
Errol
explains how wallows fit into the jigsaw of Sambar deer
biology, ecology, behaviour and hunting strategies.
|
| |
|
Errol shows students
pellets dropped by the
mature stag they had watched the evening before. |
As well as writing the Secrets of the Sambar column for Guns & Game magazine, Errol has also written a new book which was released 1st Dec 2006. This book is jam packed full of facts and tips about sambar biology, ecology, behaviour and hunting strategies.
If
you require further proof of my knowledge please read
the unsolicited references supplied or speak to the other referees listed. |
I am now offering
you and your friends the unique opportunity to attend my Beyond
the Basics Sambar Deer Hunter Training Course where you
will learn the keys to consistently harvesting sambar, whether
it be a trophy stag or a younger animal for venison.
