High Country Retreat for Sale
Location: This magnificent high country retreat is nestled in the picturesque and peaceful Cassilis Valley. The property is private and secluded yet just a leisurely 10 minute drive to the nearest town of Swifts Creek, 22km to Omeo and 45 minutes to the snow fields of Dinner Plain and Mt Hotham. All photographs of sambar in my Guns & Game articles ‘Learning to See Sambar’ and ‘A Day in the life of a Sambar’ – were taken on this property.
The land comprises 4 major gullies and one huge amphitheatre. It is located near the confluence of two valleys. It commences to rise 70m from a sealed road in one valley bottom and an all weather 2WD gravel road in the other. It rises to a 2km long ridge top which runs north south thereby forming the western boundary of the property.

The only screws used secure the external cladding.
Builder: Dwelling was built to lock-up stage under the Owner Builder scheme. A local plumber performed the work.
Insulation: Ceiling and walls are wrapped in heavy duty sisalation.
Plumbing: Plumbing points for a shower, bathroom and kitchen are located in the slab.
Electricity: Power is connected to the 19m x 8m dwelling.
