Vixen Apex Pro Binoculars
Vixen binoculars provide comparable – and in some aspects – superior performance at a fraction of the price of other leading brands. That is why I am prepared to put my name on - and give my unqualified ‘antler tick’ of approval to the Vixen Apex Pro binoculars and Vixen Geoma 11 spotting scopes.

Vixen of Japan has been making high quality optics for 60 years – the name being derived from one of Santa’s Reindeers.
‘When I compared Vixen binoculars against other leading brands to begin guiding back in 2000, I chose Vixen because I found they compared favourably with other leading brands in light transmission, colour fidelity and sharpness from edge to edge.
Vixens enabled me find stag after stag, some in light so low I simply couldn’t see them when I put my Vixens down. They ‘extracted’ antler tips from dogwood and illuminated stags as they stood motionless at the forest edge in the dim light of dusk and dawn.
In Secrets of the Sambar Volume 1 pp. 234 & 236 I provide actual accounts as to how my Vixen Apex binos found sambar stags for me and my clients. The current model – the Vixen Apex Pro – which boasts Phase-Coated lenses - is far superior to the model I used back then.

Vixen Success Story- Geoff McClure
After comparing all the leading brands highly successful sambar hunter Geoff McClure chose the Vixen Apex Pro 8x42 Binoculars.

On Friday evening and overnight it rained fairly heavily. I put up a couple of sambar on Friday but nothing I wanted to take. Saturday was clear but cold and very windy. I hunted up high in some steep gullies looking for a stag sheltering out of the wind. Whilst glassing an opposite face with my Vixen Apex Pro 8 x 42 binos I spotted a large sambar stag well below me on the other side of the gully at a range of about 250yds. It was standing still facing away from me on a bit of bare ground - a bed I presumed – and it was unaware of my presence. There was a strong crosswind so I used a tree as a rest. At the shot the stag disappeared from view but I heard the bullet hit and found it dead down at the creek.
Without my Vixens I probably wouldn’t have seen that stag. I have been using Vixens for several years now after discovering their performance was right up there with other leading brands but at a fraction of the price.
