In early February - again in pursuit of knowledge for my new book - I took a 2.5hr flight with David Blunden of Alpine Helicopter Charter in Mansfield. My heli-flight encompassed Mt Clear, Macalister River Valley, Mt Howitt, Guys Hut, Bryces Gorge, Conglomerate Creek, Wonnangatta Valley, Crosscut Saw, Mt Magdala and return to Mansfield.

The flight proved to be highly educational. Some important observations were made and terrific images captured for my book. I never felt the slightest bit unsafe flying with David, who knows these mountains extremely well.
